Milton Keynes Community Centre, a vital hub for local voluntary and charitable groups, was in urgent need of a heating system upgrade. The ageing gas boiler was inefficient, costly to maintain, and unsustainable—posing both financial and environmental challenges.
Mears, a trusted partner of Milton Keynes Council, stepped in to lead the refurbishment project, offering their services at minimal cost. To further support the initiative, UK Cylinders donated a 120L Pre-Plumbed Slimline Heat Pump Cylinder, designed to work seamlessly with the Worcester Bosch 2000 Heat Pump, which was also generously donated.
Worcester Bosch conducted a full heat loss assessment and worked closely with UK Cylinders to match the Centre’s hot water demand—ensuring optimal performance within the building’s limited space.
The installation was managed by Mears, who coordinated with MK City, a Worcester-accredited installer, to carry out the works. The team upgraded pipework and radiators to ensure compatibility with the new system, all while maintaining minimal disruption to the Centre’s operations.
The result is a highly efficient, low-carbon heating solution that reduces energy consumption, lowers operating costs, and provides reliable comfort for staff and visitors.
This project highlights the power of collaboration between Mears, UK Cylinders, and Worcester Bosch in delivering sustainable, cost-effective heating solutions that benefit both the community and the environment.
