UK Cylinders is delighted to be supporting the newly launched Low Carbon Training Centre at Grant Store Ltd in Wigan — an exciting development focused on advancing renewable heating education and practical installer training.

The new facility has been designed to provide engineers, apprentices, and heating professionals with valuable hands-on experience using the latest low-carbon technologies. As the industry continues its transition towards renewable heating, training centres like this play an essential role in developing the skills needed to support future heat pump deployment across the UK.

The centre features four fully operational heat pumps installed externally, all connected to a UK Cylinders Elite Heat Pump Buffer Combi Cylinder. Designed with flexibility in mind, the Elite range offers universal compatibility, allowing seamless integration with any heat pump manufacturer while supporting efficient and reliable system performance.

By incorporating live renewable heating systems into the training environment, installers can gain real-world experience in system design, operation, and commissioning — helping improve understanding of how correctly specified cylinders contribute to overall heat pump efficiency.

The project also highlights the growing importance of collaboration across the heating industry, with manufacturers, merchants, and training providers working together to support the transition to low-carbon heating solutions.
